Right this is why people are getting confussed as to who played the green alien girl in this film, As above Diora Baird is depicted but the one Kirk got with was played by Rachel Nichols.
That’s why he says, “You’re not Gail, are you?” And Diora’s character says no. This is because they both have green screen and red hair. And somewhat look alike.

This is a good scene, why it was deleted?
Given how it looks like it occurred after Kirk took command of the Big E and subsequently went after Nero, my guess is that it messed up the tone of urgency and threat that portion of the movie had.
